Digital Library Inauguration, 11th Aug, 2017
Objective: Digitalization of Library resources allows the readers to have access to any book at any time. It also helps every reader to experience a very organized and innovative mode of reading through the internet. Date,Time,Place: 11th Aug.2017,at the College Auditorium. Department: Organized by Duliajan girls’ College Library. Participants Involved: Some invited guests, teaching and non- teaching staff of the college and the students present in the function. Brief description/Summary of event: At the outset of the meeting librarian of the college Ms. Raju Rani Saikia delivered a speech covering the importance of digitalization of libraries in the present era. She focused about the requirements to make a library digital and also advantages and disadvantages of a digital library. It is a great step for Duliajan Girls’ College as the process of digitalization of its library resources is started in its Silver Jubilee Year. The digital door of the library was opened by the Chief Guest of the meeting Sri Anil Ch. Patowary.
