Celebration of Librarians’ day, 2015.

Objective:  Basic objective of the celebration is to pay homage to Dr. S.R.Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India and to aware the students about his contribution to the field of library Science. Date,Time,Place:  12^th Aug.2015,in the auditorium of Duliajan Girls’ College from 10:30 a.m. onward.  Department:  Organized by Duliajan Girls’ College Library. Participants Involved: About 400 students with faculty attended in the celebration and make it a successful one. Brief description/Summary of event:  12^th Aug. is celebrated as National Librarians’ Day all over the country. Duliajan Girls’ College family also pays homage per year to Dr. S.R.Ranganathan on his birthday in this day. This year also in a formal meeting librarian of the college focused on the significance of the day. Then respected Principal Dr. Lakhimi Phukon welcomes the participants and delivered her attractive speech. Followed by a PowerPoint presentation was given by the librarian R.R.Saikia about the journey of Ranganathan’s Life.
