Report of the 'National Librarians' Day Celebration'
12 August,2025, Tuesday National Librarians' Day was celebrated in Duliajan Girls' College.It was organized by Nitya Dutta Memorial Central Library of the college.The event was held at the college auditorium. At first,as per agenda objective of the day was explained by Librarian Rajurani Saikia.The next program was to pay tribute to the renowned sage by lighting a lantern in front of the portrait of Padmashri Dr. S.R Ranganathan.After that honourable Principal Dr. Jashashya Bora gave a welcome speech.In her speech she spoke about the role of a library in education and the contribution of librarians.Librarian Rajurani Saikia briefed the students on the life of Dr. Ranganathan and his works. She also screened a short documentary on the life of Dr. Ranganathan.The program was attended by several students who read articles written about their favorite books. The students also expressed their views on their experiences of using the library. The participating students were awarded books and certificates by the librarian of the college. The event was successful by the attendance of more than 300 students, teachers and staff.The program concluded with the National Anthem 'O mor aponar desh' after the librarian of the college as well as the convener of the programme Rajurani Saikia offered a vote of thanks to all for making the event successful.
