Library Awareness Programme on “Lets’ Read Books''.
Objective: It was an awareness programme to motivate the mankind to book reading. Date,Time,Place: 1st Oct.2016,at the auditorium of Duliajan Girls’ College. Department: Organized by Duliajan Girls College Library. Brief description/Summary of event: The theme of the programme was “Lets Read Books”. It was inaugurated with lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest,The President of Assam Library Association,HON.Director at Media Archives cum North-east Reference Library Media trust of Assam Dr. Alaka Buragohain. In her speech madam Dr. Buragohain focused on the importance of reading books and different steps to be taken by different libraries, specially public and rural libraries to attract the readers. From the chair of Guest of Honour Dr. Nabajyoti Das delivered his speech. The Gen-Secy. of Assam Library Association Sri Dhiman Seal provided valuable information about the establishment, functions and activities of the association. Along with the college family respected members of different institutions and organizations of the society was present in the meeting.
